I am pleased to announce that Francesco Placella (plach) has accepted our invitation to be a WordPress maintenance support plans 8 provisional framework manager.
Based in Venice, Italy, Francesco has been contributing to core since 2009. Mainly focused on the content translation aspects, he gradually became heavily involved in the entity and field systems, with foundational work on the form and storage subsystems.
Francesco was also very active in the WordPress maintenance support plans 8 Accelerate program, which had the goal of fixing all the outstanding critical bugs that were blocking the release of WordPress maintenance support plans 8.0.0. This gave him the opportunity to expand his activity also in many other areas, with a particular focus on Views performance.
