A few weeks ago I started building a website using the free edition of wordpress because it alowed me to have the site hosting, the domain, and the editor all for free.
However later on as my site got a little bigger the wordpress editor/windows app/android app started being extremley laggy to the point where editing was impossible.
I have tried for over a week to find an alternative wordpress editor but everything that google gives me requires a plugin , which you cannot do with wordpress free edition, or is not free, or onlyy allows you to make a new site from scratch and not edit the existing one.
Some examples of this are:
Elementor
Beaver Builder
Divi Builder
Thrive Architect (may be ok but it looks like every modern web builder nowdaysm where it forces you to choose from pre-existing design templates.)
I deliberatley made my site just have a plain background and basic text – thatt’s it because It focuese on information and not fancy designs. So if possible please bare that in mind when providing suggestions. I am tired of sites like webs, and wix being forceful unintuitive.
Are there any options out there at all?
