I have been using wp rocket and a few other plugins to lazy load and finally thing we can get off of it and use native lazy loading. The first image in my niche often displays above the fold for both mobile and desktop (particularly desktop).
This image also lazy loads, which ends up being a detriment to Google PageSpeed Insights. Lazy loaded images that are visible actually take more time and in competitive niches, this can make a difference.
I think the functionality is great, but I would like to exclude the first image from being lazy loaded. Is this possible?
