I’m looking to have all posts of a custom post type open in a popup or modal window instead of a new tab, and am having a tough time finding that functionality. The posts will be called via a button (onclick) which is created via a theme that uses a branded version of WPBakery as an editor.
The posts have two sets of two columns and some additional formatting with graphics and an embedded video, so not simple text.
Every plugin I find that does something similar is either a lightbox only for the post’s featured image or marketing popup builders for building individual popups. I’m still struggling to find a solution for opening each post in a custom popup window that does not strip the styling and still looks good.
I’ve also tinkered a little with some simple JS on the link, but the browser is clunky and requires a set px dimensions instead of % which I think will not be responsive.
Oh, and the client only wants the posts to open in a pop up on desktop and tablet, not mobile.
