Pasting code into pre-formatted textual content in Visible Editor not working in 3.3.1

Pre-formatted textual content within the Visible Editor isn’t behaving like I am used to. I’ve acquired an outdated set up (3.2.1), and when create pre-formatted textual content, all of the line-breaks and spacing is preserved. Within the newest model (3.3.1), the road breaks are interpreted as new paragraphs, and the code is damaged throughout these paragraphs, main areas eliminated.

Course of:

1. Copy code from textual content editor.
2. Click on on the "New Post" hyperlink.
3. Select "Preformatted" from the format menu.
4. Paste (ctrl-v).

I do know I can swap to code view and put tags in myself, however I am not in search of a workaround.
